South Gippsland Water Bulk Entitlement (Wonthaggi – Inverloch) Amendment Application
South Gippsland Water Corporation has applied for an amendment to its Wonthaggi - Inverloch bulk entitlement to allow it to extract up to 1.8 billion litres of water from the Powlett River near Wonthaggi each year.
This action is part of South Gippsland Water’s plan to secure water supplies for Wonthaggi, Inverloch and Cape Patterson.
The submissions period on the bulk entitlement amendment application is now closed. Four submissions were received and are available for viewing from the submissions page.
The Water Minister will consider the proposed amendment, along with the submissions received, in accordance with the requirements of the Water Act 1989. A decision is expected in the second half of 2009.
